lyrics

At school they told us we were made of stars
That night I could not sleep
A light so bright
A bang so big
So far away
I felt, in that moment, obsolete

In a universe so vast
A fleeting speck
Here in my hands, my eyes
The star that made me shines
As they do above
Years away
Letting us see through time

Thoughts too large
For inside my head
Too big for any dream
Maybe this is why we count sheep
Not stars
And curtains are in on the scheme

Until sun streams through
Which is when I ask
‘But is the sun a star too?’
And exhaust myself to sleep
